I~e~ular City Council eating <br />onday, .Tiny 23, 2007 <br />Page 3~ <br />Curt ally, l®c fr® ca us <br />Mr. Tally advised that he frequently walked the campus; and noted <br />that students and professors had recently removed Buckthorn on cam- <br />pus, providing evidence to him that there was a concern of students <br />and staff for the environment. Mr. Tally opined that no College was <br />perfect; however, rather than distrust, he chose to trust that the Col- <br />lege was increasing their commitment to reducing on global warming <br />and other environmental concerns, not just on campus and regionally, <br />but worldwide, similar to that being done by other businesses. <br />aria C rc ar , 3093 As <br />Ms. Churchward expressed her concerns for increased noise, recog- <br />nizing that growth and expansion were natural and would probably <br />continue. Ms. Churchward opined the need for the City to continue to <br />grow, and that residents were needed to provide input into the City's <br />future. Ms. Churchward noted the ongoing efforts of the College in <br />negotiating with neighbors and addressing their concerns. Ms. <br />Churchward read a prepared statement, in which she encouraged "all <br />to be good stewards and protectors, and to take charge of the land <br />around us; to be sensitive and provide a rightful balance to the future. <br />Ms. Churchward asked that the City Council and College consider <br />impacts for future generations for decades to come; noting the contin- <br />ued traffic and need to address it; and asked that" all would participate <br />with their hearts and minds; and recognize that the college was at- <br />tempting to be a good neighbor;" and asked that "all please cooperate <br />together." <br />Mayor Klausing concluded public comment at this time, thanking <br />residents for their participation.
