Mr. Paschke noted staff s inability to detail Site Plan recommendations and conditions without having more information. Councilmember Kough noted his desire to see development initiated in the Twin Lakes redevelopment area; noted the attendance of the Roseville Visitor's Association (RVA) Executive Director Julie Lar- son to speak to the project; and questioned the applicant on the status of contamination on the property. Councilmember Ihlan shared concerns raised by Councilmember Kough; and opined that staff's rationale for denial was inadequate, and provided her interpretation of that rationale, again encouraging that the design be considered on its merits. Julie Lars®n, Exec lrect®r, A Ms. Larson advised that she had met with Mr. Livingston and re- viewed his proposal, and that from the RVA point of view, it appeared to complement other motels in the area, the hotel brand was good, and the need was evident that another motel could be supported in the area, particularly hospitality industry focus in the Twin Lakes area. Ms. Larson expressed willingness to be involved in additional discus- sion on the proposal, with a presentation to the RVA Board to provide more information. Ms. Larson advised that the area could support an- other hotel, however, noted that the RVA wasn't endorsing this spe- cific property. Councilmember Pust opined that the City should be in possession of additional environmental studies that may or may not impact this pro- j ect, but certainly the overall area, and opined the need for additional information other than what was currently before the City Council.
