Councilmember Ihlan opined that she liked HKGI's pub- <br />lic input strategies; noted that the City had not previously worked with <br />the firm on any other major projects; and further opined that this may <br />provide a fresh look and fresh thoughts that could be beneficial to the <br />City. Councilmember Ihlan further opined that the firm appeared <br />well-prepared to meet the City's needs; and noted HKGI was her top <br />selection, with SRF her second selection. <br />Councilmember Pust opined that all three firms were strong, but con- <br />curred with Councilmember Ihlan's comments, and the public input <br />strategies proposed by HKGI. <br />Councilmember Kough spoke in support of HKGI. <br />City Manager Malinen expressed appreciation to Mayor Klausing for <br />including him in the discussion; however, limited his comments to <br />opining that they were all good candidates with each indicating a <br />strong process. <br />Ihlan moved, Roe seconded, selection of Hoisington Kiegler Group, <br />Incorporated (HKGI) as the consulting term to undertake the 2008 <br />Comprehensive Plan Update for the City of Roseville. <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Ihlan; Pust; Kough; Roe; and Klausing. <br />Nays: None. <br />Klausing moved, Kough seconded, authorizing staff to negotiate a fi- <br />nal scope of work and contract between the City of Roseville and <br />HKGI, with anot-to-exceed budget with the selected firm for formal <br />City Council approval on September 10, 2007. <br />Councilmember Ihlan clarified that staff would draft a scope of ser- <br />vices and return to the City council -with their template for finalizing <br />the contract. <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Ihlan; Pust; Kough; Roe; and Klausing. <br />Nays: None. <br />
