Minutes of 8/27/07 <br />Regular City Council Meeting <br />Page 21 <br />Mayor Klausing reviewed staff's recommendation for the composition <br />of a Steering Committee: <br />Cit Council 2 members <br />Plannin Commission 2 members <br />Parks and Recreation Commission 1 member <br />Public Works, Environment, and Trans ortation Commission 1 member <br />Housin and Redevelo ment Authorit 1 member <br />Ima ine Roseville 2025 Steerin Committee 1 member <br />Communit -at-lar e 2 members <br />TOTAL 10 members <br /> <br />Councilmember Roe spoke in support of expanding the community- <br />at-large members up to four (4), depending on the number of applica- <br />tions received. <br />Mayor Klausing spoke in support of enlarging that group, noting it <br />remained within a manageable size. <br />Councilmember Ihlan expressed concern that the consulting firm, <br />since just chosen, wasn't provided more input on selecting public rep- <br />resentation and opined she would like. to see as much public represen- <br />tation as possible, suggesting that the community be divided into re- <br />gions and citizens recruited from those community groups rather than <br />simply based on who applied for the at large positions. <br />Mayor Klausing noted that he had no problem seeking additional dis- <br />cussion with the consultant, however noted discussion from the last <br />meeting on the need to get the Steering Committee in place as soon as <br />possible. <br />Mr. Darrow concurred that at least the core group needed to be up and <br />operating without further delay. <br />Mayor Klausing sought consensus on the main composition of the <br />group, exclusive of the community-at-large members, allowing Advi- <br />sory Commissions to select their one or two representatives. <br />Councilmember Roe opined that a minimum of eight (8) members <br />were indicated, and citizen-at-large positions didn't need to be de- <br />
