On-Sale Licensees Buffalo Wild Wings Chief Sletner outlined the specifics of this compliance failure and staff s recommendation. Discussion, and Police Department presentation, included the identifi- cation process to be used by managers/servers, with specific Driver License detail stating "Under 21." Chief Sletner reviewed the annual process used providing mailed no- tice for businesses with liquor licenses in the City, announcement of compliance checks; materials on manager/server training programs, and a list of Roseville-approved training programs. Chief Sletner re- viewed the responsibilities outlined for businesses and expectations of the City's Police Department. Sue Benson, Regional Manager with Buffalo Wild Wings Ms. Benson brought forth documentation of their company's required training for their employees through the National Restaurant Associa- tion. Ms. Benson noted that the employee serving the underage buyer had been terminated following the failed compliance check. Ms. Ben- son advised Councilmembers that Buffalo Wild Wings' company standards also took very seriously alcohol compliance matters. Ms. Benson noted that the company provided for additional compliance checks on their own to keep employees alert. Discussion included Councilmembers asking why documentation of training had not been previously provided to the Police Department; Ms. Benson's concern about communication and notice issues be- tween corporate and individual locations; and the need for the Police Chief to approve training programs and receive a list of and sign off sheet for employees having completed training. City Attorney Anderson recommended specific language to be con- sidered in any motions for suspension that the date of suspension be at the discretion of the Police Chief.
