The agenda moved forward as amended. 5, Recognitions, Donations, Communications a, Recognition -Recognition of Roseville Fire D lorer Competition r Post 547 for Victories at the National Fire E p Chiefs Greg Peterson, one of Roseville Fire Department's Deputy provided a brief summary of the Fire Department's Fire Explorer Post Chief Peterson advised program started in March of 2000. Deputy that members and advisors met weekly to train youth (ages 14 - 20) in a wide variety of fire, rescue and medical skills. this past June, seven members of Deputy Chief Peterson advised that, the Post and two advisors competed at the National Fire Explorer competition in Champaign, IL, with 700 Explorers presenting posts throughout the United States competing in 14 teams and individual events. Deputy Chief Peterson ad- Jeff Hoff, Noah Ciernla vised the Roseville team of Cameron Gasaway, Jeu f HofOf7No° pet ng nia and Tim Picha earned a third place victory o teams in a "room search" event. Deputy Chief Peterson further ad- vised that Explorer Tim Picha took first place honors out of 700 indi- viduals who competed in the "one-person CPR" event. Trophies were displayed, and Mayor Klausing, on behalf of the City Council, staff and citizens, publicly recognized this notable accom- plishment of the Roseville Fire Department Explorer Post and the dedication of the advisors who volunteer their time.
