<br />Planning Commission Board Meeting <br />City Council Chambers, 2660 Civic Center Drive <br />Minutes - Wednesday, August 01, 2007 <br />1. Call to Order <br />Vice Chair Doherty called to order the Planning Commission meeting at approximately 6:30 p.m. <br />and reviewed the role and purpose of the Planning Commission. <br />2. Roll Call & Introductions <br />City Planner Thomas Paschke called the Roll. <br />Members Present: Vice Chair Jim Doherty; Commissioners Ildephonse Gasongo; Thomas <br />Gottfried; Barbara Martinson; and Joe Wozniak. <br />Members Absent: Chair Mary Bakeman; and Commissioner Daniel Boerigter. <br />Staff present: City Planner Thomas Paschke; Associate Planner Bryan Lloyd; City Engineer Debra <br />Bloom; and Mike Darrow, Short Elliott Hendrickson, Inc. (S.E.H.), Interim Community <br />Development Director, City of Roseville <br />City Councilmember Dan Roe was also in attendance. <br />Vice Chair Doherty apologized to the audience, noting that there were technical difficulties with the <br />projector for those in the live audience. Vice Chair Doherty directed those in attendance to paper <br />copies of the agenda packets that were available for distribution; and noted that those viewing <br />from home would be able to receive visual projections, as well as those web streaming later; <br />however, those attending in person would not be able to view projections. <br />3. Approval of Minutes <br />MOTION <br />Member Martinson moved, seconded by Member Wozniak, to approve meeting minutes of <br />July 11, 2007 as presented. <br />Ayes: 4 <br />Nays: 0 <br />Abstentions: 1 (Gottfried) <br />Motion carried. <br />4. Communications and Recognitions: <br />a. From the Public (Public Comment on items not on the agenda): <br />City Councilmember Dan Roe <br />Councilmember Roe referenced information distributed to Commissioners by staff, and which <br />was being distributed to all city advisory commissions, for their feedback on the Imagine <br />Roseville 2025 community visioning process. <br />Councilmember Roe reviewed the process to-date for the material formulated, presented to, <br />and accepted by the City Council from the Steering Committee, based on public input for the <br />future of Roseville; and staff’s brainstorming suggested ideas for ways to meet various goals <br />and strategy implementations. Councilmember Roe advised that the City Council was seeking <br />feedback from commissions – individually and collectively – on that staff-generated <br />brainstorming. Councilmember Roe advised that the City Council was seeking Commission <br />input for the Council to strategize priorities; manage competing strategies and goals; <br />implementation recommendations and streamlining; and any other comments or observations <br />they could offer to assist the City Council in making informed decisions. <br />Councilmember Roe recommended the Commission allow time on their September agenda to <br />discuss the materials and provide comment to the City Council.
