Discuss an Ordinance Adding 503.10, Use of Bow and Arrow
Captain Mathwig provided additional information, and proposed lan-
guage to enact an Ordinance adding Section 10 to Title Five, Chapter
503, of Roseville City Code, related to the Use of Bow and Arrow in
the City. Captain Mathwig noted that this issue had been brought
forward by Councilmember Ihlan after receiving information from a
Roseville resident regarding City Code language related to use of
bows and arrows in the City, and silence of current ordinance beyond
transporting of weapons.
Discussion included language related to less than ten (10) pounds of
pull; survey of other suburbs and their summary information; need for
exclusionary language for periodic competitive sporting events, with
additional information needed from Senior Olympics and the National
Sports Center on qualifications for competition; appropriateness of
government restrictions with revised ordinance language; and clarifi-
cation of supervised activities at a school and/or those events author-
ized by City Code or sanctioned by the Police Chief.
