Although <br />other factors contributed to these changes, the large pet-registration differential likely helped. <br />substantially. <br />King County's experience illustrates another reality: Reaching the goal of getting more <br />animals sterilized may mean that registration revenues may decrease, because fewer <br />unaltered-animal registrations are sold. However, any such decrease in revenue is likely to be <br />more than offset by increased sales of sterilized-animal registrations, and, more significantly, by <br />the cost savings that come from having to respond to fewer complaints and impound fewer <br />surplus animals. <br />i.
