Mr. Darrow advised that staffs attempts to provide positive and pro- <br />ductive alternatives to address concerns of the representatives had been met with <br />disinterest. Mr. Dan-ow advised that staff had sent a 60-day extension request <br />from the City to Har Mar for their upcoming land use (PUD) application to be <br />heard at the Plamliug Conmrission's November meethng, to allow staff additional <br />time for review of Har Mar's traffic study. <br />Ms. Bloom questioned the need to proceed with the scheduled meeting with of <br />fected property owners in the area, scheduled for Thursday, September 27, 2007; <br />and sought Council direction on whether to cancel that meeting. <br />Councilmembers expressed concern that representatives of Har Mar were appar- <br />ently unwilling to discussion options. <br />Mr. Schwartz noted that the concern of Har Mar representatives appeared to be <br />that any access changes far existing lessees cotdd trigger renegotiation of existing <br />leases, and create financial strain for the Ma11. <br />Mr. Darrow noted the number of staff hours to-date on this project; and the com- <br />mon sense and positive information provided by Mr. Schwartz and Ms. Bloom <br />that was given little perusal by representatives of Har- Mar. Mr. Darrow further <br />noted that staff had vohmteered to meet with representatives from existing, or <br />proposed businesses to explain the safety issues and provide common resolution <br />and mitigation of any negative impacts. <br />
