Regular City Council Meeting <br />Monday, September 24, 2007 <br />Minutes Page 30 <br />and can reach the individual Councilmembers through City Hall, e-mail, phone, or <br />other means. <br />Roll Call (Motion to Amend) <br />Ayes: Ihlan and Kough <br />Nays: Roe; Pust; and Klausing. <br />Motion failed. <br />Councilmember Ihlan spoke in support of the original motion; however, noted <br />that she had additional comments to make at the October 8, 2007 meeting, and <br />was not intending to limit those comments. <br />Councilmember Pust assured Councilmember Ihlan that it was not her intent to <br />limit Councilmember Ihlan's comments, when asking for the respect of citizens in <br />repeating their public comment made this evening. <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Roe; Pust; Ihlan; and Kough. <br />Nays: Klausing. <br />Motion carried. <br />City Attorney Anderson requested that any comments or proposed language from <br />individual Councilmembers be provided via e-mail to the City Attorney's office <br />for their review prior to the October 8, 2007 meeting. <br />f. Council Rules of Procedures -Consider Amendments to the City Council <br />Rules of Procedures and other Council Practices <br />This item received no discussion and was held over for a future meeting. <br />11. Councilmember-Initiated Items for Future Meetings <br />a. Councilmember Ihlan requested discussion on a future agenda of traffic safety <br />issues recently reviewed by her and Councilmember Pust; and advised she would <br />be proposing amendment of City Ordinance for overnight street parking, using the <br />City of Maplewood's ordinance as a model. <br />b. Councilmember Kough requested discussion on a future agenda, prior to finaliz- <br />ing the 2008 Budget and Tax Levy, to consider a motorcycle patrol to reduce fuel, <br />vehicle use, and overtime requests for the City's Police Department, including <br />consideration of a traffic officer and additional bike patrol; discussion on feasibil- <br />ity for a pathway extension on Fairview Avenue from County Road B to Rose- <br />lawn Avenue; and discussion of revising the Job Description and role of the <br />City's Finance Director to Assistant City Manager. <br />
