Mr. Burns advised of a partnering <br />opportunity with city leaders throughout the Twin Cities area entitled, <br />"Year to GET READY!" Mr. Bums reviewed the purpose of the <br />partnership to increase citizen awareness in preparing for unexpected <br />events; and advised of a number of events, activities, information ma- <br />terials, and resources for the City of Roseville in their partnership with <br />the Red Cross. <br />City Manager Bill Malinen encouraged Mr. Burns to have Red Cross <br />representatives available at the upcoming City Open House. <br />Roe moved, Pust seconded, proclaiming 2007 as the "Year to GET <br />READY!" supporting the efforts of the American Red Cross to in- <br />crease citizen awareness and participation in preparing for emergen- <br />cies. <br />Councilmember Roe opined that this provided a good opportunity for <br />the City Council to lead by example in promoting the kits among the <br />community; through refresher courses in CPR; and other opportunities <br />to encourage citizen participation. Proclamation -Proclamation of Hispanic Heritage Month <br />Mayor Klausing read the proclamation designating Hispanic Heritage <br />Month. <br />Pust moved, Kough seconded, proclaiming September 15, 2007 to Oc- <br />tober 15, 2007 to be Hispanic Heritage Month in the City of Roseville. <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Roe; Pust; Ihlan; Kough; and Klausing. <br />Nays: None. <br />6.
