Regular City Council Meeting <br />Monday, September 10, 2007 <br />Page 2 <br />Communications staff in not providing taping of Comprehensive Plan <br />Update consultant interviews held on Monday, August 27, 2007. <br />Mr. Kysylyczyn opined that it was the right of taxpayers to receive <br />tape-delayed broadcasting of entire meetings, since it was their money <br />paying for staffing and equipment. Mr. Kysylyczyn asked for an ex- <br />planation of how this justified good public policy and use of taxpayer <br />funds. <br />Mayor Klausing requested that City Manager Malinen investigate and <br />report back to the City Council and the public. <br />Councilmember Ihlan questioned if the City had any operating proce- <br />dures or policy for broadcasting public meetings. <br />Mayor Klausing asked that City Manager Malinen include that infor- <br />mation as well, as part of staff's report. <br />4. Council Communications, Reports and Announcements <br />Mayor Klausing made several announcements regarding upcoming fundrais- <br />ing events at the Muriel Sahlin Arboretum (Plant Sale) and the Harriet Alex- <br />ander Nature Center (Wild Rice Festival) on September 15, 2007 and en- <br />couraged public attendance and participation. <br />Mayor Klausing also noted the scheduled City Hall/City Campus Open <br />House planned for Saturday, October 13, 2007 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.; <br />and summarized some of the activities planned; and encouraged public at- <br />tendance and participation, noting that tours of facilities and equipment <br />would be available; with Councilmembers on hand for public interaction and <br />to receive comment from citizens, as well as staff. <br />Councilmember Roe apologized to citizens for recent phone access difficul- <br />ties in reaching him, and advised that his phone system was now operational. <br />5.
