Regular City Council Meeting
Monday, November 19, 2007
Page 14
Councilmember Ihlan volunteered to seek random feedback in order to weigh
both sides of the issue.
Mayor Klausing and Councilmember Roe opined that this would be a good ques-
tion for a community survey, seeking specific information, rather than general
questions, and would provide a random sample of city-wide opinions.
Councilmember Roe spoke in support of seeking additional information; with the
caveat that as proposals or alternatives were considered, they also include en-
forcement aspects, recognizing resource prioritization and allocation issues of the
City's Police Department.
Mayor Klausing clarified direction from tonight's discussion:
1) Councilmember would encourage public comment through the Roseville Is-
sues Forum on the Internet, and an article in the Roseville Review;
2) Staff to provide further comment from the PWET at their next meeting, with
their estimated timeframe for an intense review of the nature and scope of the
problem, various perspectives (i.e., areas with smaller lots and/or adequate
off-street storage or parking; impact on single-family and/or multi-family
neighborhoods; administrative costs and process; and suggested solutions),
and potential unintended consequences; with staff returning to the City Coun-
cil with that timeframe to allow the City Council to develop a more specific
charge.
g.
