The Commission suggested that corridors should connect to all public spaces and <br />not just lakes and parks <br />4. The Commission's overall comments regarding the guidelines included increasing <br />language regarding environmental preservation and sustainability, a <br />supportiveness ofhuman-scaled neighborhoods, and a desire to see the area <br />served by mass transit <br />WHEREAS, Community Development staff and the SEH Planning and Urban Design <br />Group made revisions to the design standards that addressed the Planning Commission's <br />recommendations for the design standards of the Twin Lakes area; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Roseville City Council, to APPROVE <br />the TWIN LAKES DESIGN PRINCIl'LES, subject to the following: <br />1. The TWIN LAKES DESIGN PRINCIPLES are intended to be general standards <br />which developers can use when new development is proposed within the Twin <br />Lakes area. <br />2. The TWIN LAKES DESIGN PRINCIPLES are intended to support the technical <br />aspects of the ordinance by providing written and graphic standards. <br />3. The TWIN LAKES DESIGN PRINCIPLES shall assist in clarifying the intention <br />of the Roseville Planning Commission and City Council related to sustainability, <br />walkability, connectivity, form and function <br />4. The City of Roseville wishes to encourage a broad range of new technologies <br />through innovative design and preservation. Efforts to incorporate sustainable <br />development practices may be rated on L;EED (Leadership in Energy and <br />Environmental Design). As such, these standards are intended to provide models <br />for innovative and sustainable development. <br />5. The appropriate implementation of The TWIN LAKES DESIGN PRINCIPLES <br />within individual developments shall ensure that the public realm of the Twin <br />Lakes area remains livable, walkable, and sustainable for all of its residents, <br />workers and customers. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member <br />and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: ; <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
