Mayor Klausing expressed confusion as to the Council's intent and whether there was a consensus for either of the last two attempted motions. Councilmember Schroeder opined that the attempted motions implied that staff would return for pathway construction; and he couldn't support that until there was sufficient staff to maintain pathways; and was not supportive of road reconstruction being accomplished off-center to accommodate the pathway. Councilmember Schroeder noted that, until he saw a clear separation of the road and pathway, he would continue his opposition, further opining that the proposed design is not the right design, and not what the residents wanted, as well as not meeting current budget constraints. Mayor Klausing repeated Councilmember Maschka's motion on whether to direct staff to move forward with pathway construction from Lexington to Rice with federal funding. Councilmember Maschka noted that he could not support pathway construction without reconstruction of the road. Further discussion ensued regarding options and direction to staff. Mayor Klausing concluded discussion by recommending that no formal action be taken at tonight's meeting to move forward at this time. Councilmember Ihlan sought to clarify for the record, and for the benefit of the residents in the audience and other members of the public, exactly what impact not taking the federal money would have, and reviewed her perceptions of those ramifications. 9. Consider Fire Station #1: Mold Removal, Basic Renovation of the Basement, Usage by Roseville Affiliated Groups • .._ Public Works Director Duane Schwartz reviewed background information for Fire Station #1 and its use for various purposes over the last 50+ years. Mr. Schwartz noted that, over the last few years, the basement had experienced water infiltration problems during heavy rains, with resulting water damage to some storage areas, and mold issues identified.
