b. 2008 Pavement Management Program <br />Mr. Schwartz updated the commission on the street projects approved by <br />the City Council ~or 2008. <br />Member Willenbring asked about daing projects jointly with Arden Hiils. <br />Mr. Sehwartz said the inill and overlay projects for 2008 had been bid <br />jointly to reduce costs, and Qther projects will be done that way when <br />possible. <br />Member Willenbring a~ked if roads deteriorated differ~ntly w~en the soiis <br />were different. Mr. ~chr~vai~tz said they definitely da. <br />Chair DeBenedet asked what measures were being used for storrn water <br />management. Mr. Schwartz said at this point they would be using <br />inf ltratian practices, such as rain garde~s and inf ltration trenches rather <br />than parous paverz~ent, which is relativ~ly expensive. <br />7. Har Mar PUD Amendments <br />Mr. Schwartz went over the aznend~~ents. <br />Merr~ber Willenbrin~; asked about stoz~a water. Mr. Schwartz said there <br />would be an undergraund ho~ding area, which would slowly infiltrate into <br />the ground. <br />Chair DeBenedet asked if tl~ere were any private wells in the area. If there <br />are, a monitorin~ well mighfi be requiared because of the large amount of <br />z~filt~ation. Mr. Schwartz said he'd hav~ to check into it. <br />Member Willenbxing asked what type of soils were at the site and wanted <br />to ma~Ce sure the Y~olding area was designed for that specific soil. Member <br />Vanderwall asked if the holding areas had specific maint~nance issues. <br />Mr. Schwartz said yes and that there would be a maintenance agreement <br />with the watershed district. <br />Mr. Schwartz saici the city has sorne questions abaut the traffic study, and <br />the city has asked Har Mar to do so~x~e additional work. <br />Me~nber Vanderwall questioned why County Road B couldn't be two <br />lanes all the way from Snelling to Hamline. This wauld ease con~estion at <br />tha~ Har Mar exit. <br />Member Willenbring pointed out that they were planning to close the ~'irst <br />intersection east of Sneliing. Member Vanderwail said it wouldn't hurt to <br />keep it open but make it an entrance only. <br />Page 3 of 5 <br />
