Regular City Council Meeting <br />Monday, July 21, 2008 <br />Page 4 <br />Ms. Radel advised that up-to-date information, including the latest draft of the <br />Comprehensive Plan, meeting dates, and contact information for comments or <br />questions, was available on the City's website; in addition to a list serve available <br />for residents to receive a-mail updates to better follow the process. <br />Ms. Radel advised that the Steering Committee had two additional meetings <br />scheduled: July 24 and August 14; followed by another Public Open House for <br />comment on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Ms. Radel fur- <br />ther noted the process remaining after that Open House with the Steering Com- <br />mittee approval of the recommended plan scheduled for September 11, 2008, fol- <br />lowed by initial Planning Commission and City Council review in late September <br />or early October; a draft of the Plan submitted to other municipalities for local <br />government review and informal review by the Metropolitan Council. <br />Ms. Radel noted that another Public Hearing at the Planning Commission level <br />was scheduled on December 8, 2008; followed by submittal for City Council ac- <br />tion on December 8, 2008; submission to the Metropolitan Council for formal re- <br />view, and final Plan approval by the City Council in the spring of 2009. <br />11. Public Hearings <br />a. Request to Extend Working Hours for Rosedale Center <br />City Engineer Debra Bloom advised of the 1300' and 1100' mailed notice area <br />provided to residents who may be impacted by this project, along with posted and <br />published notice. Ms. Bloom opined that there should be little disruption with the <br />exception of some back-up alarms on vehicles at the project site during early <br />morning hours. <br />Ms. Bloom advised that staff had' received only one call from a resident with <br />questions, but no opposition to the project. Ms. Bloom noted that Gary Gunder- <br />son of Haglin & Sons was present to respond to City Council comments or ques- <br />tions. <br />Mayor Klausing opened the Public Hearing at 6:15 p.m. <br />Councilmember Ihlan questioned if the 350' notice was large enough or if it ex- <br />tended sufficiently to notify residents farther away, but who may wish to know of <br />the proposed hour extension at Rosedale. Councilmember Ihlan questioned if the <br />city retained the authority to revoke the variance if complaints were received. <br />Ms. Bloom clarified the extent of the notice area was measured from the property <br />line, not the entrances to the mall, with 140 different residences noticed. <br />
