Regular City Council Meeting <br />Monday, July 28, 2008 <br />Page 25 <br />Mayor Klausing questioned proposed language based on timing of a Special Elec- <br />tion, and where taxpayers were getting $20,000 worth of service with this lan- <br />guage. <br />Ihlan moved to amend proposed ordinance language in both paragraphs A and B <br />to include the office of Mayor as well as City Councilmember vacancies, for the <br />purpose of clarity. <br />Makers of the motion, Roe and Pust, accepted the proposed language revision as a <br />friendly amendment. <br />Ihlan moved, Klausing seconded, to amend proposed ordinance language to strike <br />the last sentence of Paragraph B addressing "No special primary election shall oc- <br />cur in cases of special elections held pursuant to this section;" and to substitute, <br />Special election shall include special primary if required under Roseville City <br />Code, Section 103.06b. <br />Ayes: lhlan and Klausing. <br />Nays: Roe; Pust; and Willmus. <br />Motion failed <br />Roll Call <br />Roll Call [Original motion, including friendly amendment] <br />Ayes: Roe; Pust; Willmus; and Ihlan. <br />Nays: Klausing. <br />Motion carried. <br />12. City Manager Future Agenda Review <br />Finance Director Miller briefly reviewed upcoming Council agendas. <br />Mayor Klausing questioned Councilmembers on their preferred ranking or selection of <br />applicants for various advisory commission vacancies. Discussion ensued regarding the <br />selection and ranking process, with no clear consensus reached. <br />15. Councilmember-Initiated Items for Future Meetings <br />None. <br />16. Adjourn <br />The meeting was adjourned at 9:43 p.m. <br />
