City of <br />115 <br />~~ <br />Minnesota, USA <br />Regular City Council Meeting <br />Minutes <br />City Hall Council Chambers, 2660 Civic Center Drive <br />Monday, August 18, 2008 <br />1. Call Roll <br />Mayor Klausing called to order the regular meeting of the Roseville City Council at ap- <br />proximately 6:00 p.m. and welcomed everyone. <br />Voting and Seating Order: Ihlan; Pust; Roe; Willmus; and Klausing. <br />City Attorney Scott Anderson was also present. <br />2. Approve Agenda <br />Mayor Klausing requested removal of Consent Agenda Item 7.e entitled, "Accept Metro- <br />politan Regional Arts Council Grant for the Commission and Installation of Public Art at <br />the Frank Rog Amphitheatre in Central Park." <br />By consensus, the agenda was approved as amended. <br />3. Public Comment <br />Mayor Klausing called for public comment by members of the audience on any non- <br />agenda items. <br />a. John Abeler, 2339 Roselawn <br />Mr. Abeler brought forward concerns regarding a traffic incident he observed on <br />Highway 36 that he brought to the attention to the Roseville Police. Mr Abeler <br />was disappointed to find out that it was a Minnesota State Patrol issue and further <br />disappointed in the manner in which he was treated by the police. <br />b. John Goedeke, 1021 W Larpenteur Avenue #E326, speaking as a private citi- <br />zen <br />Mr. Goedeke addressed the need for the City to resolve issues with their fire <br />house facilities, Stations No. 1 and 2, to respectively deal with the mold and traf- <br />fic issues. Mr. Goedeke opined that the Twin Lakes Redevelopment Area would <br />lend itself well for relocation of a Fire Station to adequately cover that segment of <br />the City and the west end; and suggested that the City begin considering bonding <br />to replace those specific facilities in consideration of the health and safety of <br />Roseville citizens, and to do so as part of the 2009 budget discussions. <br />4. Council Communications, Reports & Announcements & Housing and Redevelop- <br />ment Authority (HRA) Report <br />Mayor Klausing announced the following events: <br />
