1 Terminal) for the purpose of redeveloping into professional office, laboratory, <br />2 and parking structures; to the March 5, 2008 Planning Commission meeting. <br />3 Ayes: 7 <br />4 Nays: 0 <br />5 Motion carried. <br />6 Additional discussion included whether new notices would be sent to the public for the <br />7 continued Public Hearing in March, with staff advising it was not their normal process, <br />$ but it was the consensus of the Commission that staff make every effort to get public <br />9 and/or published notice to local newspapers to alert the broadest possible audience. <br />10 Commissioner Doherty expressed his personal views on the project, including his <br />1 1 support for this proposal, and encouragement to proceed as quickly as possible; and <br />12 his preference to see a traffic plan for the entire development area, rather than only <br />13 piecemeal. <br />14 Commissioner Doherty opined that there should be a future substantive discussion to <br />15 consider a sliding scale for PUD's, since the City would be expending significant <br />16 dollars in their review of this project. <br />17 Commissioner Wozniak noted that he didn't see anything in the preliminary plans to <br />18 accommodate mass transit use by employees using the corporate campus, or <br />19 alternative transit opportunities, and asked McGough to consider those options. <br />20 Commissioner Gottfried concurred with Commissioner Wozniak's mass transit <br />21 observations and his request to McGough. Commissioner Gottfried also observed the <br />22 need for McGough to consider traffic flow and access in their design principles, with <br />23 bringing things closer to the street to make them more pedestrian friendly; and spoke <br />24 in opposition to the large parking lot in front of the building as proposed on the <br />25 concept plans, opining that such a positioning of the buildings and their configuration <br />26 did not enhance pedestrian friendly parking or access. Commissioner Gottfried <br />27 suggested that, given today's and future projected fuel costs, McGough consider <br />2$ reviewing the proposed parking structures, their projected use over a 30-40 year <br />29 span, and how to incorporate discussion of Twin Lakes Parkview in those projections <br />30 and related to connectivity and pedestrian friendly uses <br />
