Council Communications, Reports & Announcements & Housing and Redevelop- <br />ment Authority (HRA) Report <br />Councilmember Roe thanked concerned citizens and members of the City's Police De- <br />partment in their apprehension of those involved in numerous burglaries in the southeast <br />portion of the community. Councilmember Roe noted the cooperative efforts of <br />neighborhood involvement and Police Department follow-through. <br />Councilmember Pust announced the upcoming Freedom Celebration scheduled for the af- <br />ternoon of October 19, 2008 and welcome home ceremony for the 347' Personnel Ser- <br />vices Detachment, and encouraged citizens to attend. <br />Councilmember Pust announced a program through the Secretary of State's office with <br />buttons available through their website for voting in honor of a veteran; representing and <br />honoring those in service to our community. <br />5. Recognitions, Donations, Communications <br />a. Recognition of Jen Jackson-Millasovich's service to the Housing and Rede- <br />velopment Authority <br />On behalf of the community and City, Mayor Klausing and City Councilmembers <br />formally recognized and expressed their appreciation for six years of dedicated <br />service to the City and HRA by Jen Jackson-Millasovich; and presented her with <br />a plaque. <br />Mayor Klausing noted that Ms. Jackson-Millasovich had been among the original <br />members of the Housing and Redevelopment Authority, along with Jeanne Kelsey <br />and Bill Majerus. <br />Councilmember and HRA Liaison Pust noted that Ms. Jackson-Millasovich had <br />been great to work with, and had been fully prepared for and awell-informed par- <br />ticipant in meetings. <br />Ms. Jackson-Millasovich thanked Councilmembers for their recognition, and ex- <br />pressed her enthusiasm in having had the opportunity to work with the HRA and <br />the City in this capacity. Ms. Jackson-Millasovich noted that it had been a great <br />six years, and she would be more than willing to continue to serve, if work and <br />family schedules allowed it at this time. <br />6. Approve Minutes <br />a. Approve Minutes of September 22, 2008 Regular Meeting <br />Councilmember Ihlan announced that, since she could not locate her copy of the <br />draft meeting minutes at this time, she would abstain from voting on their ap- <br />proval; and if she found any corrections, she would bring them forward at a future <br />meeting. <br />
