Regular City Council Meeting <br />Monday, October 27, 2008 <br />Page 7 <br />A representative for the applicant was present, but was unaware of the optional <br />server training program. <br />Councilmember Roe reviewed the program, and noted the reduced level of penal- <br />ties for compliance checks and any potential violations. <br />Councilmember Pust strongly encouraged the firm's participation in the optional <br />program. <br />The representative expressed interest in participating; and staff was directed to <br />provide additional information to the applicant on the program. <br />Mayor Klausing opened and closed the Public Hearing at 7:39 p.m. with no one <br />appearing for or against. <br />12. Business Items (Action Items) <br />a. Consider Damico & Sons On-Sale Wine and On-Sale 3.2 Liquor Licenses <br />Councilmember Pust asked the proposed opening date for the facility; with the <br />applicant's representative advising that November 3, 2008 was the anticipated <br />date. <br />Roe moved, Pust seconded, approval of the On-Sale Wine and On-Sale 3.2 Liquor <br />Licenses for Damico & Sons LLC, at 1490 County Road B, for the period of No- <br />vember 2008 through December 31, 2009, pending final review and approval by <br />the City Attorney. <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Willmus; Roe; Ihlan; Pust; and Klausing. <br />Nays: None. <br />Councilmembers welcomed the firm to the City of Roseville and wished them <br />well in their endeavor. <br />b. Bulk Fuel Purchase <br />Public Works Director Duane Schwartz reviewed the request for Council action <br />dated October 27, 2008 in detail, for consideration of a joint bid for fleet fuel <br />among over 30 metropolitan area cities, including Minneapolis and St. Paul, met- <br />ropolitan area counties, the State of Minnesota and some school districts; antici- <br />pating the collective purchase of approximately ten million gallons of fuel annu- <br />ally. <br />Mr. Schwartz reviewed current fuel purchase volumes and practice for buying on <br />the spot market, and daily market changes, including seasonal fluctuations; com- <br />parison information through staff's tracking of other communities performing <br />forward contracting for fuel purchases; and the City of Roseville's status coming <br />
