Ms. Radel advised that, upon review and comment from the advisory
commissions, those individual chapters would again be reviewed by the Steering
Committee at their August 14, 2008 meeting, and revised as appropriate, prior to formal
review at the upcoming public Open House scheduled for August 27, 2008 at City Hall.
Ms. Radel encouraged the public to attend the Open House and Steering Committee
meetings to comment on the updated Comprehensive Plan.
Ms. Radel noted that several outstanding issues remained for the Steering Committee,
including the Economic Development and Implementation chapters. Ms. Radel advised
that discussion was still open and unresolved in the Steering Committee process as to
whether Master Plans should be integrated within the Comprehensive Plan document, as
is the current practice.
Ms. Radel advised that the Steering Committee anticipated completing the remaining
discussions by September 11, 2008, after which they proposed to submit the full plan to
the Planning Commission for their October 1, 2008 meeting to seek their
recommendation of support for the City Council for their approval of submission and
circulation to neighboring jurisdictions before final submission to the Metropolitan Council.
