<br />Variance Board Meeting <br />City Council Chambers, 2660 Civic Center Drive <br />Minutes - Wednesday, July 02, 2008 <br />1. Call to Order <br />Chair Daniel Boerigter called to order the Variance Board meeting at 5:30 p.m. and reviewed the <br />role and purpose of the Variance Board. <br />2. Roll Call & Introductions <br />Chair Boerigter introduced new Variance Board Member, Andre Best and welcomed him to <br />service on the Board. <br />City Planner Thomas Paschke called the Roll. <br />Members Present: Chair Daniel Boerigter; and Commissioners Jim Doherty and Andre Best. <br />Staff present: City Planner Thomas Paschke; Associate Planner Bryan Lloyd; and Economic <br />Development Associate Jamie Radel. <br />3. Approval of Minutes <br />MOTION <br />Member Doherty moved, seconded by Member Boerigter, to approve meeting minutes of <br />June 4, 2008 as presented. <br />Ayes: 2 <br />Nays: 0 <br />Abstentions: 1 (Best) <br />Motion carried. <br />4. Internal Business: Selection of the Chair and Vice-Chair of the Variance Board <br />MOTION <br />Member Doherty moved, seconded by Member Best, to nominate Commissioner Boerigter <br />as Chair of the Variance Board. <br />Ayes: 3 <br />Nays: 0 <br />Motion carried. <br />MOTION <br />Member Boerigter moved, seconded by Member Best, to nominate Commissioner Doherty <br />as Vice-Chair of the Variance Board. <br />Ayes: 3 <br />Nays: 0 <br />Motion carried. <br />5. Public Hearings <br />a. Planning File 08-022: Request by Patty and Tom Sagert for a VARIANCE to <br />Roseville City Code, Section 1004 (Residence Districts) to allow excess impervious <br />surface area on their residential property at 2730 St. Albans Street <br />Associate Planner Bryan Lloyd reviewed the request for construction of a detached <br />garage in the rear yard and a new driveway, the combination of which would increase <br />impervious surface area above allowable limits, and precipitated by permanent injuries <br />sustained by one of the homeowners in a vehicle accident. The detached garage would <br />place a new garage at the same level of the main floor of the home, in addition to the <br />current garage in the basement of the home. <br /> <br />
