Canvass General Election <br />Councilmember Roe congratulated the winners of the municipal election; and ex- <br />pressed his thanks to all who participated; noting that it was an important part of <br />democracy and exemplified those who ran. <br />Mayor Klausing echoed Councilmember Roe's comments; noting the time and <br />commitment in running an election campaign; and offered his personal commen- <br />dation to those who ran in this municipal election. <br />Klausing moved, Roe seconded, approval of final election results for the 2008 <br />Municipal Election held on November 4, 2008 as follows: <br />Ci Council <br />Name Total Votes <br />Tammy Pust 8,828 <br />Jeff Johnson 7,857 <br />Karen Schaffer 6,269 <br />Tim Johnson 4,105 <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Pust; Willmus; Roe; Ihlan; and Klausing. <br />Nays: None. <br />b. Electronic Communications Policy Discussion <br />City Manager Malinen presented a model Electronic Communication Policy from <br />the League of Minnesota Cities (LMC); as well as additional correspondence, ad- <br />visory opinions and attachments related to the same. Mr. Malinen requested staff <br />direction from the City Council for the next steps following tonight's discussion. <br />
