Regular City Council Meeting
Monday, November 24, 2008
Page 9
Mr. Miller advised that, while he couldn't specifically identify the property at this
time, he suspected that it was a commercial property; and advised that he would
verify the type of property to ensure that accuracy of the proposed charge.
Councilmember Pust noted that a number of properties on Asbury were delin-
quent and questioned why so many properties were in a state of arrears.
Mr. Miller advised that he would review those specific properties as well to de-
termine the situation.
Pust moved, Ihlan seconded, adoption of Resolution No. 10670 entitled, "Resolu-
tion Directing the County Auditor to Levy Unpaid Water, Sewer and Other City
Charges for Payable 2009 or Beyond;" as referenced in Exhibit A as attached.
Roll Call
Ayes: Pust; Willmus; Roe; Ihlan; and Klausing.
Nays: None.
b. Consider Approving 2009 Liquor License Renewals
Councilmember Willmus asked that the Council consider Davanni's renewal
separately, as it was his intent to vote in opposition to their license renewals.
Councilmember Roe sought clarification from Finance Director Miller regarding
participation in optional training and whether it was annual participation.
Police Chief Carol Sletner advised that the grid provided as a bench handout indi-
cated their participation in training annually, or presumptive penalties were the
higher fees.
Discussion ensued regarding whether or not Fuddruckers participated in training;
with Sgt. Matt Marshall clarifying that the grid provided as a bench handout ap-
parently had a typographical error on that entry; as his records indicated that Fud-
druckers dia participate in optional training.
Councilmember Pust noted that it didn't seem that many licensees were choosing
to participate in the training provided by the City's Police Department; question-
ing why there was so little interest when it was to their advantage to do so.
Police Chief Sletner concurred with that observation, and advised that due to the
lack of interest in the training, officers had specifically visited each licensee's
manager and discussed the manager-optional training with them, anticipating a
better response; however, there was actually less participation.
