Regular City Council Meeting <br />Monday, December 15, 2008 <br />Page 3 <br />4. Council Communications, Reports, Announcements & Housing and Redevelopment <br />Authority (HRA) Report <br />Councilmember Roe, noted his previous comments related to Roseville Glows lighting <br />around City Hall, and clarified that this was sponsored, and electricity costs paid for by <br />the Roseville Visitor's Association, whose purpose was to promote lodging and tourism <br />activities through revenues from hotel taxes paid in the community. Councilmember Roe <br />further noted that they had switched to LED lighting this year, for a cost savings of 90% <br />and use of less electricity, further reducing the carbon footprint. <br />5. Recognitions, Donations, Communications <br />a. Accept $500 Donation from Target Corporation <br />Police Chief Carol Sletner recognized Jen and Nicole, representing Target Corpo- <br />ration and their donation of $500.00 to purchase supplies for the Police Depart- <br />ment's 2009 Citizen's Academy. <br />Chief Sletner recognized and presented a plaque to Target Corporation for their <br />sponsorship. <br />Mayor Klausing thanked Target Corporation for their donation. <br />Roe moved, Pust seconded, acceptance of the generous donation from the Target <br />Corporation of $500.00 to purchase supplies for the Police Department's 2009 <br />Citizen's Academy. <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Ihlan; Willmus; Pust; Roe; and Klausing. <br />Nays: None. <br />Chief Sletner further noted the success of the recent annual "Shop with a Cop" <br />program held last week; and thanked City employees for their contributions and <br />participation, as well as the generosity of Target Corporation, Papa John's, Mi- <br />chael's, North American Banking Co., Metro Bindery, Midwest Reliability Or- <br />ganization, Roseville Bakery, and the Harriet Tubman Family Alliance. Fourteen <br />children had the opportunity to purchase gifts for their families through the 2008 <br />Roseville Police Department's Shop With A Cop Program. <br />Nicole Kurzawa and Jen Engle of Target Corporation expressed Target's enthu- <br />siasm in working with the City's law enforcement personnel, and expressed their <br />pride in the partnerships created in Roseville. Nicole noted that Target looked <br />forward to continuing with those and other programs in the future. <br />Mayor Klausing thanked Target Corporation for their donation. <br />
