Waste <br />Management was the low bidder, and on January 12, 2009 the Council authorized staff to <br />negotiate a contract with Waste Management. Costs will remain approximately the same as with <br />the previous contract. <br />Most of the service standards are included in the Request For Proposals which was before the <br />Council on June 9, 2008. <br />POLICY OBJECTIVE <br />To secure a contractor for operation of the City's Clean Up Day. <br />BUDGET IMPLICATIONS <br />To encourage participation the City has paid one-third of the disposal costs for material collected <br />at the Clean Up Day. This typically runs $5,000-6,000 a year.
