The Green Team is <br />looking for volunteers to help tend the gardens at the Muriel Sahlin Arhoretum. The eight acre <br />Arboretum, located at 2525 North Dale St., Roseville, is home to a variety of plants, shrubs and <br />trees including hostas, lilacs, shrub roses, dogwoods, viburnum shrubs, prairie grasses and <br />hardwoods. <br />Volunteers will plar��, water, rake, weed and do other tasks, as needed. A Master Gardener will <br />be available most evenings to answer your gardening questions. Volunteers meet at 5:00 p.m. <br />This year organizers added a special feature. Following an hour of work, they'll offer a free class <br />or special event. The summer work sch.edule and special events include: <br />e May 13 - Prep Work for Annual Flower Bed Planting <br />• June 10 — How to Grow Rases <br />• July 8 — Daylily Sale <br />• August 12 — Cao�Cing Demonstration Using Herbs and Vegetables Grown by Hmong <br />Community <br />• September 9— Gardening Tips — P�ant Selections, Native or Non-Native, Plants to Attract <br />Wildlife, 1'roper Taols and Techniques <br />A 4ctober l 4— Tree Care: Proper Planting, Pruning and Selection <br />If you can't meet at ihose times and you wanf to volunteer, we'll work with your schedule.
