EXTRACT OF MTNUTES 4F MEETING <br />OF T�TE <br />CITY COi1NCIL QF T�IE CITY OF ROSEV�T�LE <br />� � � � � �F � � � � � k � � � k � <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council af the City <br />of Rosevil�e, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the I4th day of November, <br />2005, at 6:00 p.zn. <br />The following members were present: N�aschka, Schroeder, Kough, Ih1an and Klau�ing. <br />and the following were absent: none. <br />Member Maschka introduced the following resoluti�n and moved its adoption: <br />RESO�UTION No. 10351 <br />Resolution �stablishing a <br />City CounciT Training and Expense Reimbursement Policy <br />I���REAS, Minnesota Statutes S�c. 3$. [471.66�] [OUT-OF-STATE TRAVEL], by <br />January T, 2006, the governing body of each statutory or home rule charter <br />city, county, school district, regional agency, or other political subdivisian, <br />except a town, must develop a policy that controls �ravel outside the state <br />of Minnesoia for the applicable elected officials of the relevant unit of <br />goverrunen#. The policy �nust be approved by a recorded vote and must <br />specify (1) when travel ottiside the state is appropriate; (2) applicable <br />expense limits� and (3) procedures for approvai of the travel. The poIicy <br />must be reviewed annually and subsequent changes must be made by a <br />recorded vote of the Council; and <br />NOW, THER��'QRE, B� IT RE�O�,VED the �ity Council af the City of Raseville, <br />Minneso�a, adopts the follow�ng:. <br />Purpose: The City oiRoseville recognizes that its elected officials may ai tin�es receive <br />value from traveiing out of the state for warkshops, confer�nces, events ancl o#her <br />assignments. This policy sets forth the conditions under which out-of-state travel will be <br />reimbLrrs�ed �y the C�ity. <br />General �uid�elines: <br />1. The event, workshop, conference or assignment �nust be approved <br />2. in advance hy the City Council at an open meeting and must ii�clude an estimate <br />�f the cost of the travel. Iii evaluating the out-of state travel re�uest, the Cauncil <br />will consider the foilowing: <br />• Whether the elected offieial will be receiving training on issues i�elevarrt to <br />the City or to his or her raie as t1�e Mayor or as a council member; <br />
