EXTRACT OF MTNUTES 4F MEETING OF T�TE CITY COi1NCIL QF T�IE CITY OF ROSEV�T�LE � � � � � �F � � � � � k � � � k � Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council af the City of Rosevil�e, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the I4th day of November, 2005, at 6:00 p.zn. The following members were present: N�aschka, Schroeder, Kough, Ih1an and Klau�ing. and the following were absent: none. Member Maschka introduced the following resoluti�n and moved its adoption: RESO�UTION No. 10351 Resolution �stablishing a City CounciT Training and Expense Reimbursement Policy I��REAS, Minnesota Statutes S�c. 3$. [471.66�] [OUT-OF-STATE TRAVEL], by January T, 2006, the governing body of each statutory or home rule charter city, county, school district, regional agency, or other political subdivisian, except a town, must develop a policy that controls �ravel outside the state of Minnesoia for the applicable elected officials of the relevant unit of goverrunen#. The policy �nust be approved by a recorded vote and must specify (1) when travel ottiside the state is appropriate; (2) applicable expense limits� and (3) procedures for approvai of the travel. The poIicy must be reviewed annually and subsequent changes must be made by a recorded vote of the Council; and NOW, THER��'QRE, B� IT RE�O�,VED the �ity Council af the City of Raseville, Minneso�a, adopts the follow�ng:. Purpose: The City oiRoseville recognizes that its elected officials may ai tin�es receive value from traveiing out of the state for warkshops, confer�nces, events ancl o#her assignments. This policy sets forth the conditions under which out-of-state travel will be reimbLrrs�ed �y the C�ity. General �uid�elines: 1. The event, workshop, conference or assignment �nust be approved 2. in advance hy the City Council at an open meeting and must ii�clude an estimate �f the cost of the travel. Iii evaluating the out-of state travel re�uest, the Cauncil will consider the foilowing: • Whether the elected offieial will be receiving training on issues i�elevarrt to the City or to his or her raie as t1�e Mayor or as a council member;
