MSDS sheets - Attached is a MSDS for crushed asphalt and concrete.
2. Expected emissions from Roseifle plant utilizing warm mix asphalt technology. I have attaclled an
errissions table that shows 20Q8 emissions from our three asphalt plants plus a column For
expected emissions from our proposed Roseville plant.
3. No stormwater infiliration. If infiltration used, insiafE groundwaier monitoring wells. Attached
are applicable portions of the Rice Creek Watershed rules. WhiEe the rules show a preference to include
infiltrafion as at least a portion of the design, there is some language allowing aproal with no irfiltration,
espcially in the case of existing contamination. It appears we can meet the Rice Creek rules without the
use of infiftration by sightly modifying the 5outh Wet Pand {increas in normai water eleation) and making
the proposed infiltration area within the tanker #ruck trning cirde a wek pond. We have had preliminary
discussions with the Watershed and will be meeting with them on ihtrsday of this week. Our
understanding is they will be open to alternative ideas and the ]esser use of infilfration given the ather
canstraints of our site and use.
4. Storxnwater Reuse (cansider) - We will frther investigate this as construction plans are deeioped,
One idea might be to install a manhole adjacnt fo the fot behind the maintenance buifding, with a pipe to
draw from a point several feet below the water surface and above the bottom. f nstallakion af an electric
pump in this sump could allow us to fill trucks far on-site watering while minimizing issues wi#h floatables
andlor sedirnent tFat can become an issue in water re-se.
5. Trackaut Control (consider) - We plan ta make provisions on the site to accammodate a wheel wash
system sametime in ihe future. This wash or process water will be kept as a separate sysfem fron-t
stormwaker. The pavement draining ta this system wilf be minimized to aoid overwhelming the settlement
and treatment cells, washing tne waste ouf with starmwater.
6. Backup alarml fai! gate noise (coniingency plan) - Tailgate noise can be mitgated by pasting sigts
instructing our trucks not to bang their tailgates. Backup aiarms are indeed requird by OSHA but
the one in the link below erriits a sound like a cat scratching against a wall and dissipates quickly
with distance.
Ilttp :ll www. reverseinsafety, ca.uk/news-letters/noise-news.htxil
7. Mechanical dust contro[ (contingency plan} — We will have to investigate this further. Keep in mind that
we are proposing fance and landscape screening along the perimefer of the property.
Sincerely,
Kent Peterson
Bituminalls Roadways, Inc.
6f1 Of2009
