Chair Singleton noted that the HRC had voted to <br />2 move forward with the document, allowing for future revisions. <br />3 <br />4 Discussion included removal of the third bullet entitled, "Develop and Implement the Police- <br />5 Civilian Review Commission for the Roseville Police Department," as it had been recently <br />6 determined by the HRC that this was not needed; addition of the expanded role of the HRC per <br />7 . City Ordinance; and the need to update the document for submission to the HRC for their <br />8 approval. <br />9 <br />10 Member Grefenberg and Member Yates volunteered to update the document for review by the <br />11 full HRC. <br />12 <br />13 Member McKenzie requested that staff provide a copy of the ordinance adopted by the City <br />14 Council. <br />15 <br />16 Member Grefenberg moved to authorize setting up a subcommittee, chaired by Member Yates, <br />17 and consisting other interested HRC volunteers, to explore the impact upon strategies of the <br />18 Apri127, 2009 City Council ordinance enactment and expanded role for the HRC. Motion died <br />19 for lack of a second. <br />20 <br />21 Member Grefenberg opined that the previous HRC didn't adopt the Strategic Plan verbatim, <br />22 referencing previous meeting minutes, and allowing for a more flexible format. • <br />23 <br />24 Member Grefenberg moved to establish a Subcommittee of Members Yates and Grefenberg and <br />25 other interested HRC members, with Member Yates serving as Chair, to update and expand the <br />26 strategic plan and commission initiatives, and incorporating the new role enacted for the HRC by <br />27 the City Council. <br />28 <br />29 Member Yates, whether nominated or not, volunteered to work with Members to provide a draft <br />30 prior to the next meeting. <br />31 <br />32 Chair Singleton said there was no need to establish a subcommittee, but it was sufficient to have <br />33 members volunteer to draft revised language for review of the full HRC. <br />34 <br />35 Member Grefenberg withdrew his motion. <br />36 <br />37 Discussion included whether the HRC met in July, with Ms. Curti advising that the Committee <br />38 historically had not met in July. <br />39 <br />40 Review of 2008 Accomplishments in Preparation for meeting with City Council <br />41 Member Grefenberg distributed his personal work plan for the HRC. <br />42 <br />43 Chair Singleton suggested developing an annual report of last year's accomplishments and a <br />44 draft 2010 work plan for presentation to the City Council at the upcoming joint meeting. <br /> <br />45 • <br />
