�y V i� � September 24,2007 We have some thoughts concerning the Street Reconstruction on South Owasso Boulevard in Roseville. We were aware of the cost of Street Reconstruction because we attended the Council meetings last year. We had a budget to cover our portion. During the Street Construction the City of Roseville tore down and re-shaped the slope of our driveway, after which we were unable to get our trailer in and out of the driveway. This was because the street level was lowered approximately nine inches, causing the end of the driveway to be too steep. Because of that, we had to have the end of the driveway re-done, at our expense, to reduce the grade to make it possible to get in and out of our driveway, and to make walking safer. We hired a contractor, RCS Ltd, to perform the work The work involved tearing out the concrete already poured by the contractor hired by the city, as well as another seclin� of our old driveway, and replacing that with new concrete. That work cost us $2,495.OQ. We did receive a check from the City of Roseville for $1,247.50 to cover'/z of that amount. We would like to ask the City of Roseville to consider lowering the amount of our bill from $2,976.85 to � 1,72�.35. We feel that if the city engineer had been able to inform us that the street level was to be dropped nine inches, the work on the driveway would have been included in the worl� on the street, as it was with most others. The payment of Street Reconstruction is also scheduled at about the same time as the second half property tax payment. It will be difficult for us to meet the City of Roseville expectation. We live on a tight b�dget. We try to maintain a cushion to cover unexpected fe�;s or interest payments. Also we have our 92-year-old mother living with us. We are both seniors and wonder why this payment has to be scheduled at this time. We would greatly appreciate if the City of Roseville would consider helping us at this difficult time.
