Tl�� first being tk�e VIC <br />�arogram which addresses hazardous subs�ance releases and is au�horized by the <br />Minnesota Environmental Response and Liability flct {MERLA) under Mii�n. Stat §� <br />115B. T�e second is t�e Voluntary Petrole�m Investigatio� and Cieanup (VPIC) <br />progrann which addresses petroleuin releases and reeeives it's authority from Minn. Stat <br />�§ 115C the Petroleum Release Act. <br />Coardinated A�proach <br />Many Volunt�ary Cleanup Sites have both petroleurn and hazardous substar�ce rel�ases, <br />which require involvem�nt a��d a coardinated approach betwee�� the ViC s�aff arad t�e <br />Voluntary Petroleum �r�r�estiga�ion and Cleanup (VPIC) staff When a Si�e is addressed <br />ur�der either of t�ese prograrns the MPCA sta�� use a risiced bas�d approach and <br />assuranees are issued which �ypically address the existing and, if known, propased land <br />�se scenario. <br />Addressing Changing Land Use <br />
