Task 7— Conduct P�an Review and Seek Approvals The Steering Comm'rttee re�view process ii� Task 6 s�pp[etnented by an initial Caty Council re�iew wilE result in a corriplete draft of the updated Comprehensive P1an. Task 7 guides the dra�t plan throug� tl�e review and appz'ar�a1 proc�ss. 7.1 - i'repare executive summary HKGi will prepare ar� exec�tive su�nmary of the draft Comprehensive Plan. The executive s�mmary will be used to facilitate the corn��unity and agency reviews to be conducted in this task. The executi�ve summary .will be prepared in a%r€n that allows for both printed and Internet pubiication. The executive summary will be subrristted for review and car►�ment by City Staff. 7.2 - Conduct camrr►unity ptan review workshap HKGi witi design and canduct a warkshop to present the dra�t pfan and to r�ceive feedback frorr� the �SUblic. It is ar;tici�ated that ihis worksE�op vvouicE be structured in the for�n af an open house. This fnrinat spans a two-three l�our period without a fixed, linear agenda. Individual "stations" wo�1d be set up �'or each chapter of ihe Plan. A ten to fif�een minute PowerT'oint presentation explaining the updatecf FEan would repeated througl�out the session. HKGi wau�d prepare both struetured and open-ended cnmment for�r►s. This apprnacF� provides participants with #�exibility iza a�tendance and facus. HKGi wiE� use a different wo�•kshop farmat if better suited to the needs for public input: 7.3 - Submit dra�t plan for local government review Stat� I.,aw req�►ires that the proposed Comprehensive Plan be submitted to acfjacent governmental units and a�fected schao[ districts for review anc� cam�nerat at least six �naz�ths prior to submissian of the plan to tt�e Metrnpn[itan Council. HKGi wiIl pr�pare a"review packet" �o £acilitate tl�is pracess, The packet will contain a eaver mez�arandurn and a hard capy of the eozt�plete draf� Compreher�sive Plan. The cover zne�morandum will exp(ain the nature of t�e requestec� plan review, highfight tE�e pianning process, and describe ehanz�els o� ca��munica#ion for questions and corraments. 7.4 - Assist with policy maker review HKGi will prepare a similar packet to faci[itate review of the draft pla�t by City advisnry cnrr�tnissions and cn�mi�ees. it is an�icipated tha� City Staff will be responsible far obtaining feedbaek frorn these graups as pa�-t of the reguIa�� �neeting sck�edule. i.S - Meet with Meiropolitan Council staf#' I�KGi and City Staff will meet with the Metropolitan Couneil to review the draft plan. The purpose af this review is to identify poteniial areas of eancern before for�nal adop�ion by the City and submissian for MetropoEitar� Co�zncil approval.
