possibly add more to an already happy life? Immigrating to another country is not a game of
poker - people do not leave their homes and everything they're comfoable with to gain some
money that they really don't need. Often, people immigrate because they need to in order to
survive. I think this is especially true in the case of illegal immigrants. Sometimes they need to
leave because poverty is unbearable, and sometimes oz.i1 y one person will be able to go, hoping to
find at least a small job so to have money to send home to buy food for their children. Some
people live in places where it is impossible to leave the hause without putting your life in danger
because of war or unrest. And sometimes people live in environments that are terribly unstable
and dangerous because of pollution. Wouldn't any one need to leave a place like that? Wouldn't
you or I need to leave a place like that? Immigrants are not selfish people who come to America
to steal our jobs. In many cases (not all, of course, but many), their just trying to protect
themselves, and their loved ones.
I do think it's true that illegal immigration is a problem. America is becoming one of the
most populated countries in the world, and if we continue getting larger and larger in population,
our economy might not be able to keep up. Even now, there are a lot of Americans out of work,
and thousands and thousands of people go to bed hungry, even starving every night. The really
hard question is - what do we do?
It is not an easy thing to decide what to do. Immigrants are people who deserve as much
respect as anyone else, and we can't just move them out of the country. Only this year we had a
lot of crops fail because the immigrants who raised them were illegal, and they were told they
had to leave. Illegal or not, the .tih is that immigrants have a lot of influence on the country. If
they had to leave, the results would be disastrous. Perhaps the thing to do would be to tighten
security on the borders of the country if possible, at least until we find a way to better control
