illegal immigration. It would be good to make sure we have ways to help people who need or
wish to live in the United States but don't have the money or freedom to do so. If we have this
help, I think it would be important to advertise it, so that people who need to immigrate realize
that we offer help. Instead of nalcing immigrants leave the country, it might help to try to
convince all that we can to become legal citizens. I think that if we can minimize illegal
immigration, we might have a slightly smaller problem. At least we'd know what the problem is.
From the beginning of America, when the first few people stepped across the supposed
Bering Land Bridge in search of food, to fifteenth and sixteenth century, when curious explorers
roamed the sea and landed on America's rich soil, to the days of Ellis Island, when America was
a land of opportunity, immigrants have made up the people of America. Every one who lives in
America has immigrated or had some ancestor who has immigrated here. We are the "big melting
pot", full of people az all four comers of the earth, and I think it is something to be proud of.
Immigration has always been a huge part of America, and it probably always will be. It's what
mal{es America so different, and it doesn't have to be a bad thing. Some of the most amazing
people in the history of the world were immigrants. Our History is made up of immigration - so
what will our future be?
