Councilmember Pust reviewed the various balance issues required; City Council support of mature tree preservation, and lack of current tree preservationpolicies; the need for the-council to do their work in adopting a tree preservation ordi- nance; and the need for the public to hold the City Council accountable for enforcing conditions on subdivisions. Mayor Klausing briefly interrupted to encourage residents to contact staff with any areas of non-compliance with previously-approved subdivisions for enforcement of applied conditions. Councilmember Pust concluded by noting that, in Section 7.2 of the staff re- port regarding previous subdivision of the surrounding properties; and noted that some of those opposing the project were living on lots previously subdi- vided; with past and future subdivision a part of the area and the commu- nity's redevelopment and similar benefits applicable to Mr. �u�lle�- as well. Councilmember Pust noted the willingness of Mr. Mue�ler to work with the neighbors; thanked the public for their comments; and encouraged their sup- port for Mr. Mucller'� willingness to take their concerns into consideration in developing and revising the proposed development, taking into considera- tion economic realities and his ownership of the property, and expressed her support of the project if the current motion failed. Councilmember Roe noted the difficulty in making this decision, and his discussions with neighbors, as well as public comment at the Planning Commission and City Council levels; and the frustration in not being able to please everyone. Councilmember Roe opined that his biggest issue was City acceptance of the cul-de-sac and justification for serving a�mal� number of homes, noting that some concerns could be addressed through conditions, and may prove beneficial to Acorn Road. ;�� Councilmember Roe opined that he couldn't share the safety objections, as �� the Acorn Road volumes didn't support major safety issues and noted that ;�� there are other areas of the City that have much more dense intersections, �� and that it didn't meet the thresholds of health and safety concerns as out-
