alternatives, C would be best because it would cost less. He said if the
city land is used in that area, he sees four good alternatives to use instead
of taling people's homes.
David Austin, 2571 Beacon St
He said why not use park land at Lincoln for the lighted access since it's
not taling any homes and it puts the light closest to the commercial end of
the neighborhood. He also suggested using Fry Street going north to
County Road C as an alterative to consider.
Duane Schwartz said the county feels there isn't enough width on Lincoln
to put another turn lane there, plus it's too close to the Snelling
intersection.
Roy Nelson, 1799 Rose Place
He's not sure what the best plan is but he doesn't lil{e having a cul-de-sac
on Rose Place. He's worried about snow plow service if there's a cul-de-
sac.
Duane Schwartz said small trucks would have to be used to clear the cul-
de-sac, which could cause a delay in plowing.
Tom Kouh, Councilmember
He thinks the city should continue fighting Mri/DOT on the closing of
Oakcrest at Snelling.
Ralh Zalazar, 1733 Rose Place
He and his wife moved into this residence a year ago and weren't aware of
these possible changes. He said the impact would affect more than just the
homes removed, and he would probably move if these changes went into
effect. He likes the streets the way they are now and doesn't want any
changes.
Tom Ruesch, 2565 Beacon Street
He asked why Fry Street couldn't be lined up with Lincoln Street.
Duane Schwartz restated the county's position on the road width and
closeness to the Snelling intersection.
A1 Sands, 2612 Aldine
He said with Alternative C he thinks the city should also buy 1733 Rose
Place because the house has bedrooms on the east side next to where the
new road would be. He said with Alternative B the house at 2566 Beacon
Street would get waste blowing in their yard and lights into their windows.
His favorite is Alternative A but he said additional houses should be
moved on their lots. He said he thought everyone would be happy if
things were kept as they are right now. He wants the city to fight the
closing of the northbound lane on Snelling.
!' t 5
