Randy Neprash asked the residents to give their opinions on what they
would prefer being done under the assumption that Mn/DOT was not
changing their plans for closing the intersection.
Dan Stock. 2565 Fry Street
He said instead of changing the layout on the residential side of Fairview,
why not go through the commercial side.
Member Willenbring said that had been an option presented to the
Commission originally, but it was very expensive and ended up with too
much unusable land.
Tonv Rozycki, 2557 Beacon St
He wants to know why there can't be a three-way stop light at either
Oac:res or Rose Place.
Duane Schrvartz said that it goes back to Razsey County thinking it
would cause more traffic problems.
MemberNeprash said he could see in the diagrams that it wouldn't take
much for cars to stack up and cause gridlock with the adjacent roads so he
can see why the County is against lights at Oakcrest or Rose Place.
Kavlvnn Hofineister. 2618 Aldine
She lives on the comer and when the Snelling and Oakcrest intersection
was closed before, she didn't think there was much more traffic going
through the neighborhood. She doesn't want anyone to lose their homes.
She wants the left turn off of Snelling to be left open, and she's not in
favor of any changes to the airview side.
Crax Landkamer. 2612 Wheeler
He said that if Alternative A was used and there was an accident on
Fairview, people wouldn't be able to get to their homes. Also, he said the
police told him they would give him a ticket if he did a U-turn on Snelling
at County Road C. He said no matter what happens the speed limit on
Fairview should be lowered. He doesn't understand how Mn/DUT` can
say the Oakcrest and Snelling intersection is a safety hazard and keep open
the Snelling crossings at Hatnline and Glenhill.
Nate Goldenman, 1756 C)alccrest
He said he would also lil{e to see the Snelling and Oaeresi; intersection
open, but Mn/DOT doesn't seem to be changing their mind so he
neighborhoodneeds to get together to come up with a viable solution.
Even though he sees problems with all the alternatives, a choice needs to
be made. He lil{es Alternative A because it creates a controlled
intersection and will probably address the steep incline there. i said
Alternative C seems to create the least amount of impact to the
neighborhood.
Page 3 of
