_
_
_
.$
_
1 1
EI
AdditionalBiitratioz basin construction: During the course of getting the Rice $18,572.19
Creek and Capitol Region watershed district permits, the Cities were required to
install additional storm sewer facilities in the boulevards on Roselawn. Two
additional biofiltrationbasins were constructed to accommodaterunoff from the
road. They are located at NE comer of Asbry and Roselawn and the SE comer of
Hamline and Roselawn. This cost is shared by Roseville and Falcon Heights.
Additional Storm sewer construction: We identified a number of areas on the $25,380.00
Roseville side of the road where it was necessary to extend the storm sewer pipe in
order to collect runoff from backyards trapped in the low areas behind the curb.
This would be aid for b Roseville.
Total Cost overruns $79,70691
While the total change orders and major cost overruns for this project was $79,70691, the actual
increaseto the contract was $62,401.65. This was the result of other project quantitiesbeing less
than what was anticipated. Even with these additional costs for this contract, we still are
substantially under the engineer's estimate presented as a part of the feasibility report,
$1,131,996.54. As a result, we do not anticipate that this should adversely impact the proposed
assessments. The costs for this contract will be paid for using Municipal State Aid funds, utility
funds and assessments. Since this is a border street, half of the street reconstruction costs are
being shared with Falcon Heights. St. Paul Water Utility replaced their watermain as a part of
this project.
