Until a council resolution is adopted, Ms. Pust should temporarily
step down from her voting position on the HRA.
Questions that need to be answered irclude why the commission with the
most activitywith the city council, the Planning Commission, does not
have a liaison?
What is the history of council members serving as voting liaisons to
commissions? "'
Should council members serve as voting and fully participating members
to a commission, which in many cases gives them two votes in the
process, one vote at the HRA and a second vote at the city council?
■ The council should immediately apply all aspects of the council citizen
advisory commission resolution with the exception of the one or two small
parts which conflict with the apcirtmenIconfrmatiQn process setup in law for
the HRA, effective with the fall 2007 appointment terms.
This will require the council to abide by an open application process, a
consistent reappointment process, and a public interview process.
