Ms. Berry noted that the
City's Metropolitan Council representative, Ms. Chris Sanda, noted that there was
a circulator bus that served the community; however, many expressed a lack of
knowledge of the scheduling and complained about the consistency of service.
Ms. Berry suggested there may be ways to better publicize the routes and schedule.
Councilmember Pust noted that there was the circulator bus serving seniors
through the Community Education program, as well as the NSSC that ran a shuttle
1 bus. She opined that this was one example of two different entities trying to run a
11 transit service, designed for the same population, and neither breaking even opera-
tionally; and suggested this was a good area to begin seeking to make one program
1 as administratively efficient as possible, and a way to determine actual need, how
1 to achieve efficiencies, how to establish fees, and how to accomplish a good pro-
1 gram.
7 E
] Mr. Majerus noted that the underlying point with citizens discussing finance and
1 revenue issues, was that while visioning is wonderful, we as a community need to
1 know what it's going to cost, and to be clear on where the money is coming from
D and where it's going.
t
2

f
Ms. Berry noted that the community's willingness to invest was reflected in the
successes of levy referendums for the City as well as the School District.
Mr. Vlajerus observed that success was due to established goals, vision, commu-
nity education and involvement and clarity of each issue.
Councilmember Ihlan questioned whether comments were heard regarding promo-
tion and encouragement of sma11 business in Roseville, and if that diverse revenue
37 base was reflected in goal statements.
31
3 Mr. Keel noted that those issues were reflected in strategies, and were supportive
; of small businesses.

 Next Steps / Implementation
3 Mr. Keel noted that the goals and strategies were a nice picture of what citizens
7 wanted the community to look like; however, that the implementation plan would
be handed over to the City Council to achieve results.
