S�eerin� Committee members sug,� e� sted �erha�s an annual update on the anniversary of this presentation. 1� Councilmember Pust suggested that perhaps by continuing the Steering Commit- �� tee, the City Council could continue to achieve community participation and input. �1 Councilmember Pust opined that there was a richness to this process, with so many �2 people providing their input; and further opined that she didn't want to wait an- �:� other 15 years to initiate another process. Councilmember Pust sought input on �� how to keep the process going in an authentic way to continue to receive input �� from the community, not just the City Council. �� �� �� �� �� 3i .�� �� �� ;�� 3� �� �8 �� Ms. Edstrom noted that on a more critical and broader issue, the Steering Commit- tee was aware that the community wanted to be involved, but sometimes they just didn't know how to do so. Ms. Edstrom noted that there were many good ideas out there, but citizens didn't know where to go with them. Ms. Edstrom concurred with Councilmember Pust's observation that the process would only continue to be effective if the ideas came from the community on up, rather than from the City Council on down. Ms. Edstrom suggested that the Council may need to review ways to make involvement less intimidating, and find creative ways to gather in- put, outside of the City Council Chambers, perhaps in schools and churches or other regular gathering areas and groups.
