The Community Development Department sent surveys to neighbors within 350
feet of four recently split lots. One-hundred ninety-seven surveys were sent and 64 were
received, for a response rate of 32 percent. She explained that she was very happy with the
response rate as the survey only provided approximately five days to for recipients to complete
and return it to the City.
Recurrent themes in the survey results were those of concern over open space, trees, and
wildlife; ability to bring new families to Roseville; favoring new single-family homes to new
multifamily homes; and property values. Advisory Committee members requested that staff
group the comments on the surveys by topic (e.g. traffic, stormwater, open space, etc.), which
will be provided at the next meeting.
There was significant discussion during the survey results discussion by Advisory Group
members regarding elements hy believe are important to address during the Lot Split Study,
including, but not limited to: economic impact of lot splits for the City, house design, and
aesthetic impacts.
PUBLIC OPEN HOUSE
Jamie presented a brief report on the March 15 Open House.
