Chief <br />��saway reviewed the history of the fire stations, their acquisition, <br />their location, and current conditions, particularly specific to Station <br /># 1. Chief Gasaway suggested that the Council may wish to consider <br />opportunities to look at other service delivery models as it evaluated <br />the future fire protection needs of the City, in the context of: <br />1) Number of fire stations needed; <br />2) Best location for fire stations now that RV is fully developed; <br />3) Apparatus & equipment needed; and <br />4) Staffing needed. <br />Chief Gasaway� suggested possible questions to be explored, includ- <br />ing: <br />1) <br />2) <br />Given age and outstanding maintenance issues of Fire Station <br /># 1, is it feasible to invest funds into the needed repairs? <br />Would the City benefit from an evaluation of future emergency <br />services (FireIEMS) delivery models before committing re- <br />sources to repairs and maintenance of the fire stations in their <br />current configuration? <br />Chief Gasaway also suggested several options for Council consid- <br />eration: <br />1} Making needed repairs to Station 1 and committing resources to <br />current and on-going programmed maintenance and repairs on <br />all three fire stations; or <br />2) Placing repairs and programmed maintenance to fire stations <br />on-hold while the City conducts an evaluation of emergency <br />services (�i�eIEMS} that includes the number and locations of <br />fire stations to serve Roseville into the future. <br />Chief Casaway reviewed changes in and those impacting the Fire De- <br />partment from 1977 to 2007; and referenced recently-completed <br />Imagine Roseville 2025 goals, including "Provide the appropriate <br />number and location of fire, police, and emergency medical facilities <br />and equipment to meet community needs." <br />Discussion among staff and Councilmembers included Finance Direc- <br />tor Miller's response to Council questions regarding no funds having <br />
