Ms. Bloom
noted that staff had followed previous City Council directive, along
with extensive public involvement with residents, business owners
and Ramsey County.
Ms. Bloom reviewed various options and provided pictures from simi-
lar streetscapes for Council discussion, along with lighting considera-
tions, sizes and types of vegetation, and other amenities such as side-
walks, colored pavement, new signals and other aesthetic items.
 As part of the discussion, Ms. Bloom presented several sample sign
2 designs and reconfiguration for City Hall, seeking Council preference,
 given the federal-city cost share (80120) for the sign as part of the
: 1 County Road C reconstruction project.
:
 Discussion ensued, with Council consensus for using "City Ha11," for
 the signage, and "Sign 3" the apparent preferred design; stipulating
 that utilizing a higher contrast between the background and lettering
36 was imperative; and Ms. Bloom noting that staff was continuing to
 work with Xcel Energy regarding ornamental tree planting to attempt
 some screening of the massive power lines.
{
