Coaaeast Webrnail - Ernail Message
Frnrn: °Patricia Brennan" patriciabr 00@msn.com>
Tn: <city.council@ci.roseville.rrn.us
Subjec: L.of 5pli4
Date: Mnnday, June 11, 20Q7 4:36:38 PM
1'age 1 of 1
. '`nl .
all% 0 %
I[oe Roseville! 7hnugh I lived i[e frst 60 year of my liie in 5t. Paul, and moved io Roseille with my
husband 6yrs agn, ry roots are very deep here. My grandparents were truck farmers here and were
charter merrtbers af St. Rase of Lima ch€rch. i"1e Leben and Herrnes families were clos relaties. My
mofiher remembers picCing "May flovers" in t1e meadaw that €s naw my backyard on her way home frorr
Britrhall schooL But beyond that, we are so proud and happy ta lie ir this first ring suburb that has such a
respected repuaiian in the rnetropolitan eommuniiy.
Rasevifle has maintained it's integrlty as cEty of neighbcrhaods that serve a variety of Iifestyles. Young
famiEies, retired folks, singleslive togitr in single family homes, candas, townhames, apartments. Well
maintained dwellings that suit those who love big yarcfs ard garelens to those who prefer a rrinimurr► of
outdonr space. What a[ovely way far peaple tn live!
'herefare, it is with great concern that there are thos arrang us who wouid disiurb tiis arrangemeni that
has endured for such a long time. Lcf spliting in my r7tirtd, is nothing rore than the greed of sorre with no
ttought of fhe gacy they leave to the city that has served them so wel1.
One af fhe major reasons that I moved from St. Paul to Rose€Ile, was tn enny a larger {ot, nat anly mine,
but ta enjoy my neigfbnrs mor xpansive views. My city home was very satisfactory, bui I desired more
of th suburban fife +vithotat rnving away frorn the convenienees of shoppinc, work, less time driving, etc.,
thaf outer ring suburbs reguire. I be{ieve strongly that i ar not alone and tFat it would be a major error far
the Gity af Roseilfe fio charge any zaning laws that aflow cianges in how many dwellings could e built an
current propeies as they now stand.
Most sincerely and strongly,
Patricia M.
