The Smoke Alarm topic was amended to apply to rentals only, overcrowding was not <br />amended in this way. Overcrowding should be amended to apply �}ril r� to rentals. <br />As an option, we could amend Section 1013 'Intent' to state that 'the intent is to allow <br />existing structures, in conlpliance with the code under which they were built, to continue <br />without change except for tl�e additional life-safe(a� and health requiremEnts that apply to <br />rental properties.' This way the IPMC would still address owner-occupied homes that are in <br />disrepair (which is what we need), and also more directly address and regulate rental <br />properties. <br />� Page 2 <br />
